Ashley Nava

My name is Ashley Nava, and Bright Futures has been a huge part of my journey from high school to graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The teachers, counselors and founders from Bright Futures are now with the Back to our Roots charity and have committed to continuing to help me and the remainder of the classes in the program with funding and support going forward into the future. As a first-generation college student and a single mom at 19 to one amazing kiddo, the support and encouragement I received through Bright Futures and it’s people gave me the confidence and resources to keep going even when things felt impossible. They believed in me and helped me balance motherhood, school, and work while pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse. Thanks to their guidance and support, I am now a proud BSN graduate, showing my first gen, Latinx community and my son that anything is possible with hard work and perseverance.
