Sadie Ortiz

Sadie currently serves as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Utah’s 3rd District, where she works directly with youth to break cycles of incarceration and guide them toward brighter futures. Beyond her role in the justice system, she is also the co-founder of Cemelle, a nonprofit organization in Salt Lake City created alongside fellow college peers. Cemelle is dedicated to empowering low-income and at-risk students in the valley by providing access to higher education, mentorship, and the belief that their futures are full of possibility.

Sadie’s passion for this work was born from the life-changing support she received as a student in Park City through the Bright Futures program. The encouragement, guidance, and unwavering belief others had in her not only helped her reach college it inspired her to build pathways for others to do the same. Today, Sadie pours that same spirit of hope and opportunity into every student she serves, determined to be for others what Bright Futures was for her.

Thanks for all you do. And for recreating the support we had with the Bright Futures program with the people and assistance from Back To Our Roots.
